Event Information

Learn how to make a delicious and classic pasta dish from the comfort of your home!

Ever wanted to learn how to make pasta from scratch? With Pasta Pals' new virtual cooking workshop, here's your chance to learn a new skill during quarantine and impress all your pals!


You will learn:


How to make a basic semolina pasta dough (vegan friendly yay!) and how to roll and cut two unique  pasta shapes - cavatelli and pici. Our resident chefs Alex Major from Ragazzi and Brandon Jones from Totti's will then show you how to make two simple yet classic sauces - cacio e pepe and pomodoro - to complete the dish! 


You will need:


Pasta Dough: 

  • 1 cup semolina flour

  • 1 cup 00 flour, plus extra for dusting

  • Dash of olive oil

  • Pinch of salt

  • Tap water

Sauce Option #1: Cacio e Pepe

  • 100 grams pecorino romano, finely grated

  • 100 grams butter

  • Pepper

Sauce Option #2: Pomodoro

  • 1 large brown onion, finely diced

  • 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced

  • 1 tin canned whole tomatioes

  • Knob of butter (optional)

  • Olive oil

  • Salt & pepper

Equipment: 

  • Mixing bowl

  • Rolling pin/wine bottle

  • Large pot

  • Knife

  • Slotted spoon

  • Wooden spoon

  • Frypan

  • Tongs

Other:

  • A Zoom account to access the event (link sent a few days before event)

  • A pasta pal (optional but strongly recommended)

Tickets: 


Event tickets are available at $20 each via Humantix. You are welcome to purchase one ticket per household, however please do not share the Zoom link to others as this is charity event, with all event proceeds being donated to Two Good Co. Raffle tickets and merchandise will also be available for purchase. Please follow the link below to purchase, ticket sales close on Saturday 10th October at midnight.

How to join the event: 


A Zoom link will be sent to your email prior to the event. Please ensure that the email used to sign up to the event corresponds to your Zoom account email. Our event will commence at 4pm sharp, with the Zoom link opening up 10 minutes early to avoid any potential technical difficulties and to allow time to ask questions and meet your fellow pasta pals!


Further details:


The event will run for approximately 1.5 hrs with an interval to allow the dough to rest. The raffle will be drawn during this time so make sure to add on those tickets for the chance to win some amazing prizes such as cookbooks from Australia's top chefs, drink and restaurant vouchers, a dinner set from Maxwell & Williams and many more!
